Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This policy explains what information FarmersHaul ("we", "us") collects in the FarmersHaul app and on farmershaul.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. FarmersHaul is run by Stefan Cleland, Maitland, Florida, USA. Questions? Email FarmersHaulApp@gmail.com.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to show you farms near you and run your membership.
- We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
- You can delete your account and your information at any time.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and a password (stored scrambled, never in plain text). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we get your name and email from them. Apple lets you hide your real email.
- Your location: only if you allow it, and only while you're using the app. We use it to find farms near you. We don't track your location in the background and we don't keep a history of where you've been. You can type a ZIP code or town instead; your phone's maps service (Apple or Google) turns it into a map spot.
- What you're looking for: the foods you pick when you set up the app, and the farms you save. These stay on your phone.
- Membership details: whether your membership is active, which plan you have, and when it renews. Apple or Google take the payment; we never see your card details.
- Referral codes you enter, so we can give the right person credit.
- Messages you send us, such as a problem report about a farm or a support email.
- Farm details from farmers: if you fill out "Add your farm", we collect your farm's name, address, what you sell, and your contact details.
- Basic device information: such as your phone model, system version, app version, language and a random app ID. Our membership provider uses this to show the right price and check your membership. If you agreed to share crash data with Apple or Google, they may also send us anonymous crash reports.
How we use it
- To show farms and markets near you, and the foods you care about.
- To run your account and check your membership.
- To answer you and fix mistakes you report.
- To send emails you asked for, like account confirmation or "the app is ready". If you turn on alerts, to send you those alerts.
- To keep FarmersHaul safe, working and free of abuse.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Who helps us
We use a few trusted companies to run FarmersHaul. They only get what they need to do their job for us:
- Supabase: accounts and our database.
- Apple and Google: payments, and sign-in if you choose it.
- Superwall: shows the membership screen and checks whether your membership is active.
- Google Maps: farm ratings and some farm photos. When a farm page shows Google photos, your phone loads them from Google, so Google can see your internet address.
- Apple Maps or Google Maps: the map in the app, and directions when you tap "Get directions".
- On our website: OpenFreeMap (the map) and Google Fonts (the lettering). They can see your internet address when the page loads.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or if FarmersHaul is sold or merged (in which case this policy still applies to your information).
How long we keep it
- Account details: until you delete your account. We remove them within 30 days of your request, and from backups within 90 days.
- Your location: not stored. It's used to find farms, then thrown away.
- Support emails and reports: up to 2 years, so we can follow up on problems.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Your choices and rights
- Location: turn it off any time in your phone's settings.
- Alerts: turn notifications off any time in your phone's settings.
- Delete your account: in the app go to Account → Delete my account, or email us from the email on your account. See our Support page. Deleting your account does not cancel your membership; cancel it in your phone's subscription settings.
- See, correct or get a copy of your information: email us and we'll reply within 30 days.
UK, Ireland and the EU: you have the right to access, correct, delete, move, or object to how we use your information, and to complain to your data protection authority (the ICO in the UK, the Data Protection Commission in Ireland). We use your information to provide the service you signed up for, to meet legal duties, and for our legitimate interest in keeping FarmersHaul working and safe. Where we rely on your consent (such as location or alerts), you can withdraw it at any time.
Australia and New Zealand: you can ask to see or correct your information. If you're unhappy with how we handled it, contact us first; you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or New Zealand's Privacy Commissioner.
United States: depending on your state, you may have rights to know, delete and correct your information. We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.
Where your information is kept
FarmersHaul is based in the United States, and our service providers may store information in the United States or other countries. When information about people in the UK, EU, Australia or New Zealand is moved abroad, we use the protections the law requires, such as standard contract terms.
Keeping it safe
We use encrypted connections, scrambled passwords, and access controls so only the right people and systems can see your information. No system is perfect, but we work hard to protect yours.
Children
FarmersHaul is made for adults. It's not meant for children under 13 (under 16 in the UK and EU), and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For big changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
